Developmental Concerns

We provide comprehensive assessments for preschool children (under 6 years old) who may be experiencing delays in their cognitive, language, and social skills. These assessments can identify developmental concerns, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They can also be helpful to determine the strategies and supports that will best promote the development of new skills.

School-related

We work with children, adolescents and adults that are struggling in the school system through therapy, developing effective learning strategies, and psycho-educational assessment. A psycho-educational assessment can be helpful for the individual, parents, and school staff to develop a better understanding of learning needs. An assessment can determine such concerns as Learning Disabilities (LD) or problems, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Asperger's Disorder, Behaviour Problems, other Mental Health concerns and Giftedness.

For students enrolled at a post-secondary institution, we are members of the Mobile Assessment Team (MAT) for the Regional Assessment Resource Centre (RARC).

Mood Problems

Dealing with anxiety, depression, anger control, stress management, and low self-esteem can be challenging and isolating. Our clinicians provide support through treatment and assessment to allow individuals to make effective changes in their lives. Through these changes, individuals can learn to manage and ease feelings of anxiety, sadness, and anger.

Family Problems

Our clinicians are available to work with families and couples experiencing relationship difficulties. We provide support to family members when coping with grief or bereavement. In addition, we provide support when parents have questions about effective methods of parenting, and support to family members through treatment or consultation during separation or divorce.

Treatment

We provide services across the lifespan, with clinicians that provide treatment to children, adolescents, and adults for a range of issues such as everyday problems, life transition difficulties, coping with chronic illness or pain, mood and anxiety, social skills, behavioural difficulties, and severe mental health challenges. Services are provided for individuals, couples, and families. Treatment is supportive and client focused. It may involve a variety of approaches depending on the needs of the client, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, or Solution Focused Therapy.

Consultation

We provide consultation services to schools, agencies and other professionals to address concerns related to mental health. For example, we consult with school staff on the effective implementation of supports and accommodations for students that are underperforming, as LD, AD/HD, ASD, anxiety, and behavioural issues.
